BuddyBoss Platform 3.6.1 Download — Group Privacy Tests & Nulled FAQ
Public, private and hidden groups were checked with native membership requests and a separate signed-out browser. Includes an explicit boundary between core behavior and untested Pro features.

Visible in the directory is different from open to read
We created three workshop groups with public, private and hidden privacy settings. A signed-out browser saw the public and private group names in the group directory but did not see the hidden group. Opening the private group required login instead of exposing its activity. The public group’s feed was readable. This distinguishes group discoverability from permission to read its content.
These are core group behaviors observed with Platform Pro installed. We do not attribute them to a Pro-only feature or use their success to claim that hosted apps, video, learning integrations or paid memberships work. The main ZIP is Platform 3.6.1; Platform Pro 3.3.3 is a separate component in the companion archive.
The three-group setup and visitor directory
| Group privacy | Listed in directory? | Observed content access |
|---|---|---|
| Public | Yes | Feed readable |
| Private | Yes | Login required when opened |
| Hidden | No | Not offered in the guest directory |

The fixture enabled the native groups component and created the synthetic group records through BuddyBoss’s group APIs. It used a synthetic Workshop Reader account for membership operations. Names in the public screenshots are laboratory labels, not claims about real customers or community activity.
An important testing trap appeared here: a directory query made from WP-CLI included the hidden group by design. The plugin treats the command-line context differently from a normal guest request. We recorded that CLI result honestly and used a real signed-out browser for the visitor-visibility conclusion. A backend query is not automatically a faithful simulation of a public page.
Join, request and approval are separate states
The synthetic reader joined the public group. For the private group, the fixture first submitted a native membership request and verified that the reader was not yet a member. It then approved that request and verified membership. A pending request and an approved membership were not treated as the same result.

These native API checks cover the stored request/approval lifecycle. We did not send invitation emails, exercise social login or approve a request through every administrative screen. A live community should also test its actual role permissions, moderation settings and notification delivery with non-administrator accounts.
The public group provides the comparison case

The same guest session could read the public group’s feed. That comparison helps separate an intended private-group restriction from a general login or routing problem. The screenshot shows the native community frontend; no simulated community interface was built for the article.
Hidden-group direct-link behavior, search across all member data, REST endpoints, media permissions and custom integrations were outside this bounded test. The absent directory listing is evidence for that listing, not an exhaustive privacy audit.
Which companion files were actually exercised?
Only Platform and Platform Pro were activated for these checks. The companion inventory also contains the GPLHub-listed optional plugins and BuddyBoss parent/child themes, with versions and hashes. We did not activate the entire collection together. Do not install every ZIP merely because it is in the bundle; decide which component your site needs and test its dependencies separately.
If you need only a simple editorial discussion area, a smaller forum or comment workflow may require less configuration. We did not benchmark those alternatives. Choose this package for an actual community requirement, and verify the specific feature that motivates the choice rather than relying on a generic feature list.
BuddyBoss and Nulled questions
“Nulled” usually describes software whose activation or licence checks have been removed or altered; the word alone does not determine whether a particular use is lawful. GPL-covered code can be studied, modified and redistributed subject to its licence conditions, but this does not grant access to a developer’s account, hosted services, updates or support. We discuss the term here to answer a common search question; the download details separately identify the package source and tested version. Any plugin or theme obtained through an unverified third party can contain unwanted changes or malicious code, whether or not it is labelled “nulled”. Before installing it, you can ask ChatGPT or Claude Code to inspect the extracted source for suspicious behaviour without executing it or sharing credentials. Treat that review as an additional check: AI can miss harmful code or flag harmless code, and a clean result is not a security guarantee.
Why can I see a private group in the directory? Discoverability and content access differ. Our guest saw its name but had to log in when opening it.
Why did a CLI query show the hidden group? The native query handled WP-CLI differently. We used an actual signed-out visitor session to check the public directory.
Do these tests prove Pro-only features work? No. They establish the documented core group/request workflow with Pro installed, not every Pro or hosted service.
